Mission
The mission of the Texas Hazardous Waste Research Center is to coordinate an integrated program of research, evaluation, testing development, and demonstration of alternative or innovative technologies that may be used in minimization, destruction, or handling of hazardous wastes to achieve better protection of human health and the environment.
Background
The Texas Hazardous Waste Research Center was created in 1986 and reauthorized in 1995 by the Texas Legislature. The Center is a consortium of the following four Texas universities:
