My name is Jenny Tu, and I am majoring in Exercise Science in the College of Education and Human Development. Along with this major, I have a Biology and Honors Study minor with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy.
I knew I wanted to work in the medical field, yet I was unsure how to make that a reality. During my first year as a Reaud Honor College student, I participated in the Scholars Development Seminar led by the Dean and Associate Dean of the honors college. My peers and I discussed our passions, why we chose our major, and how we could reach our professional goals. The seminar helped me figure out my passion is tied more to the biomechanics aspects of science. The honors college then introduced me to a mentor, Dr. Shannon Jordan, the department chair of Health and Kinesiology. She provided detailed insights into each course and how they aligned with my envisioned career as a physical therapist. These conversations empowered me to switch my major from Biology to Exercise Science!
