Position Duties
A chief promoter of individuals from all walks of life, you demonstrate enthusiasm for the Reaud Honors College and its students, faculty and staff and you cultivate sensitivity and interest in the honors student body’s diversity by intentionally pursuing ways to make honors students feel welcomed, heard and valued. While advocating for the interests of Reaud Honors College students, you will work collaboratively with other colleges on campus and with university administrators to shape and implement student-focused polices.
HSA's committee chairs assist the executive committee in meeting the needs of Reaud Honors College students by promoting university events, community service and student advocacy. The committee chairs are appointed by the incoming president and the dean of the Reaud Honors College each year in April and serve a full-year academic term.
You are highly self-directed, work collaboratively to solve a problem rather than serve a need and are inventive and entrepreneurial in your approach to addressing social issues. You mobilize friends and community members to participate in service-oriented endeavors by pointing out how a mission's beliefs and values match theirs and by leading groups in activities and events that can help make a positive and lasting influence in on-campus and off-campus communities.
You are physically active in recreational experiences that promote personal wellness, possess resiliency to persist in the midst of adversity, enjoy informal dialogues with peers that elicit different perspectives and have a welcoming and inclusive attitude that encourages interested honors students to participate, regardless of experience level with the sport.
Possessing an enthusiasm for life that engages and captivates others, you get people excited about participating in events and activities, you are always up for a creative challenge to transform the ordinary into an extraordinary experience and your assertive presence is both commanding and reassuring. To maximize exposure to as many current and prospective members as possible, you coordinate with the HSA vice president on effectively utilizing social media tools to present authentic communications from HSA.
