The Master of Engineering Science (MES) with a Chemical Engineering concentraion is a thesis option program that prepares students to independently develop a solution in their selected engineering disciplines.
The student should select a department academic advisor and a graduate committee must be formed before the student has completed 15 semester hours of graduate work. No credit toward a graduate degree will be granted unless approved by the student’s graduate committee.

B.S.in Engineering or Equivalent (Transcripts required)
If English is a second language, obtain the minimum scores in IELTS or TOEFL according to the latest University policy.
Personal statement on why you are a strong candidate and should be considered for admission.
In addition to the above requirements, you may choose to include the following optional items for consideration:

Completion of a minimum of 12 semester hours of core coursework as follows: CHEN 6302 Transport Phenomena CHEN 6343 Kinetics and Reactor Design CHEN 6347 Advanced Thermodynamics CHEN 6348 Advanced Chemical Engineering Mathematics
Completion of a minimum of 12 semester hours of elective coursework selected from the following: a. All other CHEN 5xxx and 6xxx level courses approved by your research advisor b. Other 5xxx and 6xxx level courses from other engineering or science disciplines approved by your research advisor NOTE: If a course is offered at both the 5000 and 6000 levels, you may not take both versions of the class.
Satisfactory completion and defense of a Master’s thesis (a minimum of 6 semester hours of coursework in ENGR 5390 and ENGR 5391). See defense proceduresfor instructions.
