The
Office of Undergraduate Research is set to host its 9th annual Humanities, Arts, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Education and Business — or HASBSEB — Conference, featuring keynote speaker professor Dr. Juan Llopis, professor of business organization and director of Institutional Relations and Projects at the University of Alicante. The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 19. Llopis will be speaking on international and competitive challenges that face business management in the modern world.
Llopis graduated with honors in business studies and received his Ph.D. in 1991 from the University of Alicante. Llopis became full professor of business organization at the University of Alicante in 2002. He was the dean for faculty of economics and business from 2006-12 and then the vice-president of the University of Alicante. Since January of 2021, Llopis has held a director position of the Institutional Relations and Projects.
Llopis has authored and co-authored 15 books, 32 chapters in books, 160 papers published in academic and professional journals and 120 papers in national and international academic and professional workshops and conferences on management and business topics. He is a member of 15 international research projects, 20 public research projects and 100 private research committees. He is a member of 27 international editorial advisory boards and is referee for 50 international business management journals. He was also a member of 25 evaluation committees for Ph.D. dissertations in different universities.
Llopis holds professional consulting experience for many private firms and public institutions. He is a prominent member of the management board of Circle of Economy of the Alicante’s Province, and an esteemed member of the Advisory Council of Sabadell East Bank.
