The 91自拍论坛 Department of Art & Design is set to host a digital art exhibition featuring Christopher Troutman, associate professor of art and show curator, and several LU art students.

In early July, more than 37 pieces of artwork created and produced by 14 91自拍论坛 art students were on display in the Miyazaki Prefectural Art Museum in Miyazaki City, Japan –– a mixed media of works on paper spanning from 2022 and 2021 with some digital artwork included.

Troutman, who curated the week-long show in Japan, said that eight of the art pieces from the Miyazaki Prefectural Art Museum will be on display this November with a few new additions.

“The November show will feature 19 art pieces from 15 students, seven pieces are mine and the rest, I just tried to pick up from the students throughout the semester. There have been some really good pieces,” he said. “I wanted to include current students who are making art now because I wanted to motive and influence them.”

Troutman said his ultimate goal in hosting the exhibition is to motivate his students and make them career-ready before graduation.

“I wanted to make sure that students had the opportunity to work digitally because a lot of them have a real interest in going into illustration, comics and other related fields,” the art professor said. “That’s what the exhibition is really about –– helping our students reach their goals. This show is a stepping stone in getting them experience in showing their work as a professional and getting them into the careers that they want for the future.”

The show is slated to run from Nov. 5-22 with an opening reception on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 7-10 in The , located at 720 Franklin St. in Beaumont, Texas 77701.
