The honor is bestowed upon experienced nurse educators with specialties in teaching, developing curriculum for, or overseeing aging or gerontological/geriatric nursing courses, professional development content or community education.
The National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence is a specialty organization dedicated to optimal health and quality of life for older adults. The organization aims to enhance and sustain the capacity and competency of nurses to provide quality care to older adults through faculty development, advancing gerontological nursing science, facilitating adoption of best practices, fostering leadership, designing and shaping policy.
Stinson, along with all 2022 honorees, will be recognized at the annual NHCGNE Leadership Conference held from Oct. 18-20. The conference will feature plenary sessions, leadership workshops, discussant reports and panel discussions that explore the current state of knowledge about national and international aging, dementia and mental health science, curricular innovations, evidence-based clinical practice and health policies.
