The faculty and staff in the
Department of Art & Design will present their work in an exhibition at the
Dishman Art Museum Aug. 13 through Sept. 10. The public is invited to attend an opening reception for the exhibition on Friday, Aug. 26 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Seventeen faculty and staff will be represented during this exhibition with a range of artwork including sculpture, photography and drawings among others.
“The exhibition features media from painting, sculpture and ceramics to photography and graphic design,” said Dennis Kiel, director of the Dishman Art Museum. “We hope you will join us to view work from new professors, as well as our senior faculty and staff. We have outstanding talent among our artists!”
Art faculty being represented include Keith Carter, Stephanie Chadwick, Kurt Dyrhaug, Claire Elestwani, Xenia Fedorchenko, Joana Hyatt, Donna Meeks, Prince Thomas and Christopher Troutman. Adjunct faculty and staff being represented include Linnis Blanton, Sunni Forcier, Brandi Hamilton, Eric Johnston, Audra LaCour, Emily Lewis and Jacob Miller.
Admission to the Dishman Art Museum is always free of charge and open to the public. The museum is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays 12-4 p.m. For more information, visit lamar.edu/dishman or call (409) 880-8059.
Parking Information: Daytime parking is available in reserved spaces between the Dishman School of Nursing and the Dishman Art Museum on Lavaca St. From Lavaca St, enter campus. Turn left in front of the Dishman School of Nursing. Museum parking spots are located on the left. Four spaces are reserved for museum use. Parking permits are issued to gallery visitors in the Dishman Art Museum.
