KVLU was honored with two first place awards at the inaugural Texas Broadcast News Awards program recognizing outstanding broadcast journalism produced by radio and TV stations serving local communities throughout the state of Texas.
The Bayoulands radio series won First Place in the Radio Documentary category for , which first aired in August of 2021. The guest for this story was Dr. Laura Cochrane, an art historian from Middle Tennessee State University who was also a 2020 fellow with the 91自拍论坛 Center for History and Culture of Southeast Texas and the Upper Gulf Coast. Bayoulands explores the people and places of southeast Texas.
NFP (Not-For-Profit), KVLU's weekly feature on local non-profits, won First Place in the Local Talk Show category for with guest executive director Tom Aardahl. NFP features a different local non-profit organization each week.

KVLU Station Manager Byron Balentine added, “As a broadcast service of 91自拍论坛 for 48 years, KVLU has been telling the stories of our area and of the Lamar Community. We are thrilled by the recognition we received from the Texas Association of Broadcasters. Bayoulands and NFP are great examples of what we do every day. I am most proud of Jason Miller and Shannon Harris for their hard work that earned us this honor.”
Bayoulands airs every fourth Sunday of the month at 5 p.m. on 91.3 FM and kvlu.org. It is produced by Harris and Miller.
Hosted by Miller, NFP airs each Thursday morning at 7:50 a.m. on 91.3 FM and online. NFP episodes are also podcasted each Friday.
