On Friday, March 25, 91自拍论坛 will join thousands around the world to celebrate one of India’s most popular and most colorful festivals known as Holi.
Holi, also referred to as the “Festival of Colors,” is an ancient Hindu celebration that symbolizes the arrival of spring, the passing of winter as well as the triumph of good over evil. During the Holi celebration, participants throw pigmented powders and water in the air drenching one another from head to toe.
The university first celebrated Holi in 2019 hosted by the International Student Council. This year, the Global Goodwill Ambassadors have joined in on the celebration as a co-host for the event.
“Holi is an ancient celebration of eternal divine love of lord Radha Krishna and it marks the arrival of spring with colorful blooming flowers,” said Rushika Ajudiya, president of the ISC. “We put colors on each other –– all different colors, but the same hue.”
Ajudiya said that this year, participants can expect Bollywood music, snacks and a vibrant celebration that honors diversity of all cultures, “Celebrating Holi here on campus indicates the unity and diverse culture of LU. Celebrating with domestic and international students will bring more friendship and we can all learn the cultures of many countries.”
The LU Holi Celebration, which is open to the public, will be hosted from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, March 25, on the LU dining hall lawn.
