LU Beta Alpha Psi earns Superior Status

For the fifth time, the LU Beta Alpha Psi chapter in the College of Business has been recognized internationally as a Superior Chapter for their outstanding performance during the 2020-2021 academic year.

Beta Alpha Psi is an International Accounting Honor Society for accounting, finance and information systems students. Superior Status is awarded only to chapters that continually demonstrate academic achievement, professional development, community service and outreach. Members must also attend chapter, regional and annual meetings, socials and recruiting events.

"We would like to thank our local SETX TXCPA chapter who has diligently partnered with our program for years," said David Rose, accounting professor and faculty advisor. "These already busy students participate in 20 different professional functions and 20 hours of service per year. This award belongs to our officers and members from last year and this year."

This achievement comes with a $500 award sponsored by Big Four accounting organization KPMG and KPMG Foundation.

“As Faculty Advisors for the chapter, Professors David Rose and Dr. Don Warren have provided an invaluable service to your academic institution” said Beta Alpha Psi President Scott McQuillan. “The Zeta Tau Chapter has far exceeded the baseline requirements of Beta Alpha Psi and has excelled in the areas of academics, professionalism, and leadership. I want to especially congratulate the chapter on its accomplishment during this particularly challenging year.”
