3rd Annual Graduate Research Conference

Grab your raincoats, parkas, and flip flops (because who knows what the weather will do next) and meet the College of Graduate Studies at 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, Feb 12 at the SETZER CENTER, Ballroom A for coffee and tea before we kick off the 3rd Annual Graduate Research Conference with Senior Provost Jator and Associate Dean Latimer.
The theme is wellness, and your peers from Biology, Chemistry, Counseling, Engineering, Education, Nutrition, Geosciences, English, and Kinesiology, among other departments, will be presenting posters and papers.
A yoga demonstration and a poster on dinosaur tracks are just a couple of the featured presentations. Some hard science and ecologically-based philosophy presentations are also part of our break-out sessions.
We are honoring our Counseling faculty with student seesions in the Neches Room. A free pizza luncheon will be hosted by graduate assistant Rushi B. for all graduate students--attendees and presenters-- right after a fascinating keynote presentation by Paula Tacker and Katie Durio of Stable Spirit, an equine therapy group right here in Southeast Texas
We in the 21st century know that wellness is the crossroads of mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health, and a chief basis of success. Two free workshops, one with our own Dr. Elizabeth Sanders offering tips on writing literature reviews, the other by Rushi Bandathmakuru on how to find a job, make it easy for you to fill the day with varied activities.
