With hundreds of ways to advertise in today's world, there's never been a more exciting time to major in communication with an emphasis in advertising.

You'll learn about advertising principles and best practices, media buying and planning, campaign strategies and business analysis. Large and small companies around the world use advertising, and they will depend on you to discover and understand target audiences, to craft specific messages to their audiences and to place those messages in the most effective channels.

You will learn how to construct ethical, competitive advertising campaigns through our hands-on, real-world course projects and theoretically innovative classes. 

Our program also encourages you to take courses in advanced public speaking, film and video making, non-verbal communication and persuasion. From there, you can show off your skills and work with others in our Public Relations Student Society of America chapter and the Lamar Advertising Federation, our student chapter of the .
