"Euthanasia is about one of many transgender experiences: the joys of transition contrasted with negative reactions and fear mongering. I created this series to show the viewer this contrast, and to instill empathy in those who may not understand.
The drawings depict a listless, suffering child maturing into an adult whose life is markedly improved. The sculpture depcits, in sharp contrast, a corpse - decaying, immobilized, and lacking individuality. Euthanasia serves as an empathetic experience for a non-transgender viewer. It is a look into the projected lifespan of growth, change, and happiness and the contrasting view of someone who fears what they do not understand. With so many anti-trans sentiments today, I can only hope it shows that living a transgender life is better than to die having never got a chance at all."
