The meeting was called to order by Diann Brodnax, President, at 2:01pm.  Roll was taken by Stephanie 5Allen, Secretary.  A quorum was present.

Officers present: Diann Brodnax, Yinka Jenmy, Stephanie Allen, Dimples Jones

Members present: Albertine Ambers, Angela Burke, Candy Cazares, Lauren Gatto, Ashley Glenn, Kristin Helm, Charlotte Holliman, Renee Hunter, Karen Kessinger, Polly McNeel, Yolanda Monroe, Candice Moore, Natalie Rhodes, JT Robertson, Ciera Vaidya, Manas Vaidya, Julie Walker

 

Diann Brodnax, Staff Council President, addressed the following items:

  • The Investiture for President Taylor will be November 11 at 1:30 at the Montagne Center, with more festivities to follow in the Setzer Center Ballroom. All LU employees are urged to attend.
  • Please email Diann your preference (color, size, fabric, gender) for your Staff Council polo shirt as soon as possible.
  • There are issues in getting the raglan sleeve shirts (sizing and colors).

Diann explained the Staff Council Committees and then council members met with their respective committees.

The members were then called back together for the continuation of the meeting.

 

Committee Reports:

Community Service Committee:  Yolanda gave the following report:

  • 134 potatoes were ordered by LU employees this semester! This is a twice-yearly fundraiser for Nutrition and Services for Seniors. 
  • Nutrition and Services for Seniors is having a Blanket Drive and asked that council members relay the information to their departments. Blankets can be dropped off at Yolanda’s office or at Nutrition and Services for Seniors

Staff Relations Committee:  No report

Nominations Committee: No report

Bylaws Committee:  No report

Staff Awards Committee:  No report

Ad Hoc Committee: No report

Old Business:  There was no old business.

New Business: The was no new business.

Good of the Order:  None

 

The next Staff Council meeting will be December 14, 2021 at 2:00pm, location 8th floor, Library.

Ciera moved to adjourn the meeting and Albertine seconded the motion.

There being no further business, Diann adjourned the meeting at 3:00pm.
