Research Council Meeting Minutes

June 6, 2022, at 1:00 PM

In-Person and Via Microsoft Teams

Attendees: Mamta Singh, Chunda Chen, Ana Christensen, Xianchang Li, and Jerry Lin

Not in attendance: Kurt Dyrhaug, Amy Smith and Scott Crawford

Meeting called to order at 1:04 pm, by Dr. Jerry Lin

I. Review/Approval of May 2022 Council meeting minutes

Motion to approve by Ana Christensen. Second motion to approve by Mamta Singh. Motion approved.

II. Deliberation of IBS policy and principles

i. Minor editorial revisions to the IBS policy draft

a. Modified sections on awards, employment documentation, and grant project

b. One-time payments, IBS and Overloads

ii. Council input and discussion on summer faculty payments

a. Overload – HR is currently working on classification

b. Teaching – based on the teaching assignments by Academic Affairs

c. Documentation of time & effort contribution for compliance issue

d. Plan for the academic excellence, to be further reviewed by the Academic Council and Faculty Senate

III. Roundtable

i. Due to the July 4^th holiday, next meeting will be moved to July 11, 12:00 pm, lunch provided.
