PARKING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING

The Parking Advisory Committee is the eyes and ears for all things regarding parking lots and parking on campus. Committee will be providing recommendations for improvement of parking on campus. Committee will be making decisions on parking violations and policy.
Welcome/Opening Remarks: Dr. Flores
NEW BUSINESS
- Interior signage for parking lots: Parking Office inventoried all interior lot signs for replacements with updated design. Planning & Construction will order new signs to match new black & red lot signs.
- Parking lot repairs and maintenance:
- C-3 striped, electric vehicle charger in A-5 repaired
- Six other repair work orders pending, Dr. Flores requested that additional work orders be submitted to paint the service drive behind nursing building to indicate no parking/service vehicles only and to add No Parking to the yellow curb along the circle outside the Setzer Center.
- Parking Enforcement: Parking is getting quotes on 3 more ticket writers and printers. The PD will be interviewing and hiring 3-4 CSOs to cover more parking lots. R. Buckingham relayed request from the staff council for more enforcement in lots F-6 (Speech & Hearing), G-1 and G-2. Mark Broome requested more enforcement in E-1. Dr. Flores directed Action Items be sent to officers to check these lots more frequently.
- Permit Costs: At President Taylor’s request, retiree reserved permits have been reduced to $30 per year, to be prorated in Spring & Summer semesters.
OLD BUSINESS
- Exterior signage for parking lots: Katherine Miller and sign vendor surveyed all lot signs and agreed on needed corrections and timeline.
- Parking Management Software:
- Payroll deducted permits still not syncing between AIMS & Banner. Expected to be resolved within a few days.
- Ticket fees issue has been resolved and they are now posting to Banner.
- Cashier’s office agreed to manually remove successfully appealed tickets as that issue between AIMS & Banner cannot be resolved.
- Permit issuance and ticket writing going well
- 4,779 permits issued for 22-23 year, worth $276,982.
- 1,546 tickets issued for 22-23 year, worth $58,260.
- Ticket appeal rate is down from 18% to 16%, with 43% approved ($4,028).
