PARKING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING
April 13, 2021

The Parking Advisory Committee is the eyes and ears for all things regarding parking lots and parking on campus. Committee will be providing recommendations for improvement of parking on campus. Committee will be making decisions on parking violations and policy.
Dr. Wagner welcomed everyone to the meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
- Parking Permits for FY22 are being prepared and should be ready for the printer by mid May. Delivery is expected by mid July. Current permits expire 8/18/2021. This was presented as an information item by Dr. Wagner.
- Repair and replacement of reserved parking lot gates. Dr. Wagner reported that there are 8 reserved lot gates that are not functioning. Mechanical parts and controllers have been ordered and facilities management will be working to install and repair the nonworking gates.
UPDATES
- Parking lot signage is back on the project list. Katherine Miller and Bert Wagner are working together on this project. Katherine Miller had several questions and suggestions. She and Dr. Wagner will meet and discuss a plan of action for obtaining lot signs etc.
- Purchasing is reviewing agreements with Texas State University, UTA and others in our system to see if we can piggyback on their agreements for parking management software. Dr. Wagner updated the committee on the process of obtaining a financially feasible parking management software. He is also looking at a subscription management system. Cost could range between $35K and $40K annually. Per his statement there are several issues that have to be addressed for a system that is a good fit for us.
