PARKING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING
November 12, 2020

Meeting Opened: 2:00 pm Online via Teams

 

ROLL CALL:

The Parking Advisory Committee is the eyes and ears for all things regarding parking lots and parking on campus. Committee will be providing recommendations for improvement of parking on campus. Committee will be making decisions on parking violations and policy.


 

  • Welcome and opening remarks: Robert ‘Bert’ Wagner, Executive Director Campus Operations

 

OLD BUSINESS:

Bert Wagner covered the agenda for old business. There were no comments.

  • Work has been completed for Motorcycle Parking in various lots and the Loading Zone behind the Setzer Center.
  • RFP for new parking system has been initiated - see new business
  • There was also discussion on who can and cannot open and close the gates that control the reserved lots.
  • The committee was made aware that Steve Veyron in the IT department will be the contact for gate control and all requests will be approved by Bert Wagner.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

  • Discuss the transition to a monthly online format with Microsoft Teams, The committee agreed to meet virtually via Teams until further notice.
  • Discussion regarding Parking Scope for future RFP. Copy was sent to all committee members on November 10, 2020. Chief Flores stated that he would like have a solution that would be compatible with iPad devices and accommodate Bluetooth printers for citation printing. Katherine Miller commented about the possibility of contacting other organizations dealing with parking solutions for Higher Education.
    Dr. Wagner did mention that the current parking solution costs approximately $22,000.00 in annual fees.
  • Open forum for any questions or input from the committee.
  • October citations have been emailed to all committee members for evaluation. Please return them to Mike Spears on or before November 18th in order to get the results posted to the accounts before the Thanksgiving holiday.

  • Next meeting will be December 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM as a TEAM online meeting
