PARKING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING

The Parking Advisory Committee is the eyes and ears for all things regarding parking lots and parking on campus. Committee will be providing recommendations for improvement of parking on campus. Committee will be making decisions on parking violations and policy.
- Welcome and opening remarks: Robert ‘Bert’ Wagner, Executive Director Campus Operations
OLD BUSINESS:
- ✓ University began issuing citations on August 24, 2020
- ✓ All functioning gates for reserved lots were activated August 18, 2020
- ✓ Lot E5 redesign has been completed and the lot is in full operation
- ✓ Work Order request for Motorcycle Parking and Loading Zone behind the Stezer Center has been issued
Bert updated the members present
NEW BUSINESS:
- RFP for new parking system will be initiated
- Comments from committee members:
Chief Hector Flores commented that Police Department is short-handed by 18 positions.
- Joh Harlow commented on having Entergy and emergency crews occupying the parking lots around the football stadium and the Montagne Center and if there was an end date? Bert Wagner responded with information regarding the agreement we have with Entergy and how it goes into force anytime we have an emergency weather situation.
- There was also discussion on who can and cannot open and close the gates that control the reserved lots. The committee was made aware that Steve Veyron in the IT department will be the contact for gate control and all requests will be approved by Bert Wagner.
