College of Engineering Ambassadors
What We Do
The Engineering Ambassadors Program adds a student component to the College of Engineering recruiting process, employer recruitment, and community activities.
Student Ambassadors assist in participating in the following events:
- Assisting with area school career and college day events
- Giving prospective student campus tours
- Work academic open house and talk to prospective students
- Participate in various engineering panels
- Assisting with Engineering Career Fair
- Assisting with Industrial Partnership seminars
- Greeting advisory council members at the executive luncheon
- First Year Math Bootcamp
Ambassador Requirements
- Must be at least a sophomore (>30 hours)
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must be a member of the student professional organization in their discipline
- Positive, outgoing personality
- Enthusiastic about engineering and 91自拍论坛
- Must be able to devote a minimum of 15 hours of service each semester, and must volunteer at first-year math bootcamp.
- Must be able to lead a minimum of 2 COE tours each semester
- Must be able to attend monthly Ambassador meetings
- Must be willing to attend a training session before starting as an Ambassador
- Must represent the College of Engineering and 91自拍论坛 well

Tiolu Akinwunmi
Electrical Engineering
Senior
Tiolu is a part of student organizations such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) , and Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Her favorite place to study on campus in the Cherry Engineering Building.
Franky Alegria
Mechanical Engineering
Junior
Franky is the President of the Student Engineering Council, along with being a part of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). His advice to incoming students would be to get involved and volunteer as much as you can.
Trey Ames

Trey is the President for Engineers Without Boarders (EWB), the Treasure for Cardinal Additive Manufacturing (CAM) and the Event Coordinator for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). His favorite place to eat on campus is Chick-Fil-A!

Brynn is a part of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and Robotic Cardinals. Her advice for future engineering students would be to find your study groups and begin networking early.
Bobby Barton

Bobby is involved in the Baptist Student Ministry, Robotics Cardinals, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). His favorite experience as a College of Engineering Student at Lamar was getting the opportunity to travel VEX U Worlds and compete in the world's largest robotics competition with his friends.

Jack is involved with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Jack’s favorite experience was at our annual community event geared towards kids, Discover Engineering where he got to introduce the next generation into the world of electronics.

Jewell is a part of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Chi Epsilon, and Chi Alpha. Her favorite place on campus is the rec center, due to the community there and being able to be physically active.
