We are very proud and thankful for our many alumni and industry supporters. The following are some common ways to help the department.
Due to the generosity of our alumni in both small and large donations, the Lamar Industrial and Systems Engineering Department has over $1,100,000 in endowed scholarship funds to financially aid our students. Please contact Dr. James Curry if you are interested in providing support to the IE Department.
Our advisory councils helping to improve the Industrial Engineering and Industrial Technology programs for our current and future students by evaluating the performance of the department and suggesting strategic directions. Please email Dr. James Curry if you are interested in joining these councils.
CO-OP and Internships allow you to work with some great students and evaluate their potential as future employees. CO-OP and Internships provide the key experience to allow students to transition from the academic environment to the work environment. The department strongly encourages students participate in co-op and internships. By having all junior and senior courses online, many students have had extended employment at companies prior to graduation. Please email Dr. James Curry about employment opportunities.
Our faculty study a wide range of topics relevant to industry (Safety, Engineering Management and Process Improvement, Manufacturing, Human Factors, Automation, Data Mining, Optimization, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Quality Control, Ergonomics and Reliability). Our faculty are focused working on applied projects that solve real problems. See are faculty profiles for more information.
Take part in the Lamar Engineering Career fair.
Our IISE student chapter is always looking for interestnig plant tours to see industrial engineering in action. Please email Dr. Liu about tours and site visits.
