Sharon L. Joffe, Ph.D.

Sharon Joffe
Sharon Lynne Joffe holds a master of science degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a teacher, she specializes in 19th-century British literature. As a researcher, her most recent work has focused primarily on the writings of the extended Clairmont family. Her most recent books, The Clairmont Family Letters, 1839-1889 (2017) and The Clairmont Family Journals: 1855-1885 (2021), were each published by Routledge. As a result of Dr. Joffe's efforts in 2018-2019, the Austrian city of Vienna declared the Clairmont family tomb an "honorary" grave, thereby saving the tomb from destruction and solidifying for posterity the Shelley-Clairmont family bond.
